Is CAT Compulsory for JIMS Rohini?

No. The admissions team accepts scores from other exams like XAT, CMAT and GMAT in addition to the CAT. Candidates who have a valid score from any of these exams can submit an application as well. However, if you will be taking the CAT in 2026, the percentile that you achieve on the CAT will be the first factor considered by the admissions team when reviewing your application.

JIMS Rohini Selection Process: Step by Step

Step 1: Register online. Complete the online application for admission to JIMS Rohini and select which course you would like to pursue (PGDM, PGDM-IB or PGDM-RM).

Step 2: Submit your CAT score. Add your CAT 2026 scorecard when the results are available. CAT results are typically published at iimcat.ac.in following the November 29th exam.

Step 3: Shortlisting. Based on a candidate's entrance score and academic background, they will be invited to participate in the GD-PI process.

Step 4: Group Discussion (GD). GD is designed to evaluate your ability to create a logical argument, pay attention to what other people are saying, and react calmly when there are differences in opinions. Panel members place greater emphasis on being clear and composed than being the person who speaks the most.

Step 5: Personal Interview. The PI will focus on your academic background, professional experience (if applicable), career objectives, and the reasons for wanting to pursue a PGDM. You can expect to be asked about your undergraduate courses, as well as recent business-related news.

Step 6: Final selection. JIMS Rohini chooses applicants based on 4 criteria as a whole; Entrance Test Result, Previous Academic Performance, Group Discussion Results and Personal Interview Results.

The CAT percentile is the main factor in determining which candidates will be called for interviews. However, a high CAT percentile doesn't automatically mean you have secured a spot at your desired institute. A candidate with a moderate CAT percentile and a strong interview performance may perform better than a candidate relying solely on their CAT percentile.

Documents to Keep Ready

  • Class 10 and 12 marksheets
  • Graduation marksheets (all semesters or years available)
  • CAT 2026 scorecard (or XAT/CMAT/GMAT scorecard)
  • Photo ID proof
  • Recent passport-size photographs
  • Category certificate, if applicable

Failure to provide necessary documentation during registration may cause your application to be rejected and/or cancelled.

How to Prepare for the GD-PI Round

  • Read business news daily for 3-4 weeks before the round.
  • Practice two or three GD topics a week with friends, and record one session.
  • Prepare your “why PGDM, why JIMS Rohini” answer in your own words, not a memorised script.
  • Revise your graduation subjects. Interviewers often start there.
  • Be ready to talk about one internship, project or achievement in depth.

Why Consider JIMS Rohini for Your PGDM
